Report:

AGFC had not beaten NOB's since early 2006 and this remained the case following their encounter in Treforest on Friday night. NOB's started with their now usual mixture of old stagers versed in the art of defence and younger brighter players in attack. AGFC began the match a little shakily in the first quarter but were to improve as the first half went on and finished the half strongly although neither team were able to break the deadlock.

The second period began in a similar vein to the first with both sides creating some scoring opportunities and half chances but neither Team could capitalise and turn the screw on their opponents. In particular, the AGFC defence impressed, and the match looked to be heading for a competitive 0-0 draw right up until the 70th minute when the match turned against AGFC. The young talented NOB's winger picked up the ball 20 yards out and managed to lob Hewitt in goal to open the scoring. AGFC did not panic and continued to press forward but despite opportunities for Enda, Rich and Panny the equaliser would not come. NOB's took advantage of AGFC's impotence in front of goal and managed to score three more goals - two classy solo runs by the young star winger and a good header from a corner.

AGFC took nothing in the way of points out of the game but can be satisfied with their overall performance against good opposition with Pete in particular deserving special praise for a towering performance in the heart of the defence.
