AGFC 0 vs. 7 UWE
Date: 30-Nov-2007
Venue: Treforest
Goals:
Man of the Match:
Terry Swanson
Report:
A disappointing end to the competitive year for AGFC although it did prove to be a game of two halves. In the first period AGFC managed to blunt the UWE attacks and limit the amount of shots on goal although Craig in goal did manage to pull off some smart saves to keep the match delicately poised at 0- 0 the interval. Things changed dramatically in the second half and unfortunately for AGFC it was for the worse as UWE moved up a gear and their pace, fitness and youth were the telling factors as they ran riot against a willing but significantly older & ultimately tiring AGFC outfit. The opening goal could have been avoided and the second goal was scored via the penalty spot after an unfortunate handball in the AGFC box. UWE followed this up with an unanswered five goal salvo with AGFC rarely threatening the UWE penalty box. Although in reality this was a heavy defeat for AGFC, the performance and commitment of the players could not be faulted & the team were undone by a younger more talented side. Terry picked up the man of the match award for an all action display but the spread of man of the match votes reflected the commitment from the Team.
