Report:
Following their narrow midweek defeat to Loco Splott AGFC bounced back at the first opportunity with victory over a Jacobs Team who played with the match with ten men. Despite their apparent disadvantage, Jacobs finished the first half in the ascendancy as they secured a two goal lead. AGFC had played reasonably well in the first half but had failed to break the deadlock as a shot cannoned off the Jacobs crossbar and a Booty effort came back out off the inside of the post with Rich shooting wide with the goal at his mercy.
In the second half Duncan, playing his first match of the season, was starting to influence matters in the middle of the park but it was not until 20 minutes into the second period that AGFC managed to get themselves on the scoresheet as Rich glanced in an inviting cross from Enda who was playing wide on the right. A combative challenge on Booty ended his night early as he limped off with a hamstring injury which meant it was 10 men each side for the last 20 minutes. Rich fired in the equaliser with 20 minutes to play as he latched onto a ball just inside the AGFC box while another accurate Enda cross was headed powerfully into the Jacobs net by Simon to break Jacobs resolve. Jamal scored his first of the season as he drilled a loose ball in the penalty area into the top corner of the net, as Jacobs finally wilted against more and more AGFC pressure. Duncan took a deserved man of the match vote for a committed display as AGFC won a match for only the fourth time when having to comeback from a two goal deficit.
