Report:

AGFC ensured their unbeaten start to the season continued as they beat Loco 4-1. The scoreline flattered but it was a performance full of energy and stoicism as AGFC fought hard as a Team to get the result they deserved. AGFC, who gave Fed a debut at left back, were the better Team in the first half as they controlled much of the possession and managed to score two goals, a typical Calvin finish followed by a good strike from Dean, from an acute angle, as he opened his account for the season in style. Loco, too, contributed to the match and got themselves on the score sheet before the break.

Typically, Loco came out for the second half with all guns blazing as they searched for the equaliser and they managed to control the majority of the second half, not allowing AGFC to get a foothold in proceedings. Loco huffed and puffed and while they controlled possession, they could not turn their possession into goals. AGFC put the hard work in all over the Park and were rewarded with a breakaway goal in the last 10 minutes as Scott, who had earlier hit the Loco crossbar, headed in from a Booty cross. Booty, himself, served the coup de grace in the final minutes as a rasping half volley strike from a tight angle hit the back of the Loco net in an early contender for goal of the season. Carl and Dean played well in the middle of the park and featured in the final MOM votes. However, it was the defenders who really won the match for AGFC as Thicket edged Steve for the man of the match award as they stifled the majority of Loco attacks and gave the rest of the side the confidence to attack.
