Report:
It was a very rare fourth win in succession for AGFC who outclassed a Dave Maustin’s XI over the 90 minutes while rarely getting out of second gear. Simon opened the scoring in the first half as he was given time and space in the penalty box to shoot into the top of the net. Jamal harried the defender for AGFC’s second and although his shot was going well wide of goal a big deflection from a Maustin defender saw the ball hit the back of the net past a despairing goalkeeper. Calvin was the victim of some rough treatment and took exception to one meaty Maustin’s challenge as handbags at dusk ensued, although AGFC didn’t need to get involved with such antics, as they dominated the football side of things.
The second half saw a Duncan header from a cross cannon off the crossbar but fall kindly for Calvin to head back towards goal to give AGFC their third goal. In the dying seconds of the match some good work by Jamal on the touchline was rewarded by a good opportunity in the penalty box which he duly buried. A millisecond later the lights faded and AGFC left the pitch worthy winners. A roving Calvin pipped the impressive Pete and Duncan for the man of the match award.
