In my ongoing quest to fight for my fellow workers I have helped you time your poo breaks, countdown the seconds to the weekend and find out if the raise you've been offered is worth the paper it's written on.

Well now I've turned my attention to your travel woes.

I know how annoying it is when London Underground workers go on strike because of privatisation fears, fireman strikes or general whinginess about their already healthy 30K+ salaries, but I have the solution - get off your ass and walk! Tube lines really aren't as long as you think, it just seems like hours when you're squeezed into a boiling carriage, packed tighter than prisoners on the way to a concentration camp, your nose pushed up against the rank sweating armpit of some fat man who decided he wouldn't shower today (or this week).

Instead you could be above ground, skipping gaily through the rolling meadows and valleys of central London, literally stopping to smell the roses of life, exchanging smiles and pleasantries with the other friendly happy folk you meet.
